Prospect Plaza: LEED Platinum Certification (Site 1), LEED Gold Certification (Sites 2 and 3)

Working with Prospect Plaza’s designer, Dattner Architects, as well as sustainability and energy consultant Steven Winter Associates, Inc., the Prospect Plaza development team achieved LEED for Homes Platinum tier for Site 1 and LEED Gold tier for Sites 2 and 3. Created and administered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED is a green building rating program that fosters the construction of sustainable, resource-efficient, high-performing, healthy, and cost-effective buildings worldwide. The LEED certifications were achieved under the LEED for Homes Midrise Multifamily rating system. The team also achieved National Green Building Standard Gold for Site 1 and Silver for Sites 2 and 3, as well as ENERGY STAR certification and financial incentives offered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) through its Multifamily Performance Program, which helps offset costs for buildings that meet or exceed energy performance goals.
