Duvernay + Brooks has been a principal in developments in five states that collectively total more than 1,600 units in eight projects. D+B’s role as developer evolves naturally from our extensive background in financial, policy, and development consulting and from our staff’s diverse experience in the affordable housing field. This experience gives us a secure grasp of public-sector needs and a fine-tuned ability to balance profitable development with public-sector goals.
D+B’s multifaceted development experience covers a variety of neighborhood revitalization initiatives, including not just affordable housing but also mixed-income multifamily developments and mixed-use (residential and retail) developments. Our expertise embraces all aspects of a revitalization project, from the pre-construction phase through construction and marketing, and includes participating in teams and working in partnership with other developers, obtaining zoning and other regulatory approvals, structuring project financing, working with architects and planners, and coordinating the work of all development-team members.
When development projects are completed, D+B’s role changes, with the firm providing asset-management services, preparing financial analyses associated with projects exiting the LIHTC compliance period, continuing to oversee retail leases, and coordinating with property management staff as appropriate.
