Consulting

As a consultant to public- and private-sector developers of affordable housing, Duvernay + Brooks has earned an outstanding national reputation by helping clients create and revitalize thousands of units of affordable housing, from small developments to city-wide portfolios. Since its founding in 1999, D+B has advised on the development of more than 150 projects, creating over 16,000 affordable and mixed-income housing units, at a total value that exceeds $2.7 billion.

D+B offers its clients—public housing authorities, other governmental entities, non-profit organizations, and private for-profit companies—a wide variety of services vital to the successful planning, financing, and implementation of affordable housing and related initiatives.

D+B’s transaction-based financial advisory services establish strong working relationships among public agencies, private-sector developer partners, and funding sources.

Our development consulting services enable our clients to achieve their development goals. For public housing authorities, we adapt methods suited to the particular municipal context and agency portfolio. For private non-profit and for-profit developers, we provide a range of services throughout the pre-development, development and post-development periods.

D+B is a national leader in assisting public housing authorities in converting public housing to Section 8 through HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program and in converting or replacing housing through HUD’s Section 18 process.

Since D+B was founded, the firm has been helping municipalities across the country to create and implement master plans, including HOPE VI and Choice Neighborhood Initiative (CNI) plans, resulting in more than $2.5 billion in investment in those communities.

D+B has extensive experience with New York City and State affordable housing finance programs and agencies and provides consulting services to a number of affordable housing developments in New York.
